TECHSPEC® 锗 (Ge) 平凸透镜 (PCX) 采用精密金刚石车削基片,可提供无镀膜或 3 - 12µm 的各种宽带增透镀膜选项。锗(Ge)具有化学惰性、不溶于水、努氏硬度为 780,这些特点使其非常适合需要坚固光学元件的国防、安防以及热成像应用。不过锗会出现热失控,因此应在低于 100°C 的温度下使用以确保最佳透过效果。TECHSPEC® 锗 (Ge) 平凸透镜 (PCX)直径为 12.5、25 和 50 毫米。锗的折射率很高(4.003),在没有增透镀膜的情况下会产生很大的菲涅尔反射损耗。TECHSPEC®锗(Ge)平凸透镜可提供无镀膜或多种宽带增透镀膜(BBAR),以增强在中波红外(MWIR)和长波红外(LWIR)的透过能力。

锗因其高折射率、较大的透射距离范围和坚固的机械性能而广泛应用。锗的透射范围为 2 - 16 μm 且在可见光谱区是不透明的,因此十分适合于红外激光器应用。但是,锗会发生热逸散现象,即随着温度的升高,透射率会降低;事实上,锗在 100°C 的温度下几乎是不透明的,在 200°C 的温度下则完全没有透射性。当设计用于重量敏感系统的设备时,应考虑到锗的高密度 (5.33 g/cm3) 特性。锗的努氏硬度 (780) 大约是氟化镁的两倍,这一特点使其成为要求有坚固光学器件的红外线应用理想之选。锗不会与空气、水、碱金属和酸(硝酸除外)发生反应。
